“i wonder what it’s like to be the hero”

not necessarily the protagonist

whose story is forced

around them,

justifying villain eras.

the hero could be a stranger,

as they tend to be,

somebody walking up to you,

meddling in when they’re not supposed to,

making bad days disappear.

i wonder how they have the power to do that.

i know some people with the power to do that.

it’s an amazing power,

to just walk into the scene,

the energy in the room changing,

the bad things pushed away,

and the day is saved.

imagine just saving one person,

who could be having the worst day of their life.

and imagine it being that special…

i wonder what it’s like to be a hero.

to have people look up to you,

but never worry about you.

to think you have everything figured out

and the power to have it come true.
